Met Éireann issued another wind warning for County Donegal on Monday as Storm Boelo continues to affect the region. The warning remains in place until 3 pm Sunday. The storm has caused significant disruptions, including power outages affecting over 40,000 premises. Most outages are concentrated in the northwest, with ESB reporting the majority of incidents in that area.
Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to affected areas in Donegal. The utility company noted that Storm Boelo impacted water treatment infrastructure, leading to service disruptions. Affected areas include Na Gleannta, Baile na Finne, Cullionboy, Leghawny, Drumkeen, Culdaff, Fahan, and parts of Lower Inishowen.
The storm brought blustery conditions to the west and northwest, with strong winds reported across the region. Residents in Donegal have experienced both power and water supply issues. Efforts are ongoing to address the damage and restore services. The situation remains under monitoring as the storm’s effects continue.
Storm Boelo is part of a series of weather events impacting Ireland in recent weeks. Previous storms have caused similar disruptions, highlighting the increasing frequency of severe weather in the region. Local authorities and utility providers are coordinating to minimize the impact on communities.
