A man was killed and another seriously injured in a knife attack in Kerry early Saturday morning. Police confirmed the incident occurred in the town of Ballinlisk. The victim, identified as a local man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man, also from the area, was found with severe injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Authorities have arrested a third man in connection with the attack. The suspect is currently in police custody and is being questioned. No other details about the incident have been released. The police have not yet confirmed whether the attack was targeted or random.
This is the second violent incident in the region this month. Last week, a similar attack occurred in nearby County Mayo, resulting in one fatality. Local officials have called for calm and urged the community to support the victims' families. The case is under investigation, and further details are expected in the coming days.
